Cookie Policy

Last Updated: April 2026
Our position on cookies: we use the smallest set of cookies we can. The essential ones keep you logged in and protect your account; the optional ones (analytics and ads) only load if you accept them in the consent banner.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files saved by your browser when you visit a website. They let the site remember things like whether you are logged in, what theme you prefer, and (for ad-supported sites) which ads you have already seen. This page explains exactly which cookies Verif-AI uses, why, and how to turn the optional ones off.

2. Essential cookies

These cookies are required for Verif-AI to work. Without them you cannot stay logged in, and the site cannot protect your account from common attacks. They are always set, and they do not need consent under UK law.

Cookie Purpose Lifespan Type
session Keeps you logged in as you move between pages. Required for any authenticated feature to work. Session (deleted when you close your browser) Essential
cp_theme Remembers your interface preference (for example, dark mode). 12 months Essential
cp_csrf A security token that protects your account from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. Session Essential (security)

3. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you accept analytics cookies in our consent banner, Verif-AI loads Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate, anonymised usage of the platform — how many people search for a company, which pages convert, where users get stuck. We never see your personal data through GA, and GA is never loaded if you decline the consent banner.

Cookie Purpose Lifespan Set by
_ga Distinguishes unique visitors so aggregate engagement metrics (sessions, returning users, bounce rate) can be calculated. No personally identifiable data. 2 years Google Analytics
_ga_<property-id> Maintains session state for the specific Verif-AI GA4 property. 2 years Google Analytics
_gid Distinguishes users for the duration of a single day — used for daily active user counts. 24 hours Google Analytics
_gat / _gat_gtag_* Throttles request volume to the GA collection endpoint to keep page loads fast. 1 minute Google Analytics

You can opt out of Google Analytics universally using the official Google opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

4. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

Verif-AI's free tier is supported by ads served through Google AdSense. If you accept advertising cookies in the consent banner, Google sets the cookies below to choose which ads to show and how often. We do not see, store or sell the data Google uses to do this.

Cookie Purpose Lifespan Set by
__gads Limits how often the same ad is shown to the same visitor. 13 months Google
__gpi Used by Google's ad personalisation and reporting. 13 months Google
IDE Set by Google's DoubleClick service to measure ad clicks and conversions. 13 months Google / DoubleClick
DSID Links ad activity across devices when you are signed in to a Google account. 14 days Google

4.1 Turning off personalised ads

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time using the official tools below. Opting out does not remove ads from Verif-AI; it just means the ads you see will no longer be targeted to you.

5. What we never use

Verif-AI does not load any of the following, with or without consent:

6. Managing cookies in your browser

You can block or delete cookies directly in your browser at any time. Bear in mind that blocking the essential cookies above will stop you from being able to log in to Verif-AI. Blocking the optional Google cookies has no effect on the rest of the product.

7. Updates to this policy

We update this policy from time to time, in line with UK regulation. If we make a significant change, we will flag it the next time you visit.
